During the Tales of the Jedi Panel at Star Wars Celebration, supervising director, Dave Filoni described the juxtaposition of Ahsoka and Dooku’s decisions and experiences as “two paths and two choices.” Filoni, a long-time Star Wars storyteller at the helm of the animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels, compared these episodes to “tone poems” and acknowledged George Lucas’s continuing influence. As such, the episodes are a bit shorter than that of a usual TV series.
How Long Are the Tales of the Jedi Episodes? Answered
Each episode tells a story from varying periods in either of their lives. Ahsoka’s three installments will follow her from childhood to her time training under Anakin Skywalker and finally to her encounter with a fateful Inquisitor. With Dooku, the shorts follow his time as a Jedi and Master to a young Qui-Gon Jinn showing how he slowly loses faith in a Jedi Council. The episode runtimes are as follows:
