Bungie did go on to explain why this change was taking place. As time has progressed, Destiny has evolved into a much more complex game than its humble beginnings. Along with the core gameplay, the economy has seen massive changes, both entities becoming an overwhelming experience for new and returning players alike. Simplifying the economy was the best place to start, and by removing currency from the game’s beginning stages, the experience should be much simpler for all players. These changes will take effect when Season 19 starts which is set to commence in a little under two months. Hold on to your materials until the new season starts then you can safely dismantle them.
