Epic Games has been very generous with the Week 0 challenges with the start of Chapter 4 Season 1. There are nine Explorer quests and seven “This Week” challenges that nudge players into traveling around the island and trying new weapons like the Shockwave Hammer.
All Launch Day Challenges in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1
Here are the Explorer quests that reward with XP, a harvesting tool for completing three quests, and an emoticon for completing eight quests:
Land on the new island (1) Visit The Citadel, Anvil Square, and Shattered Slabs (3) Search Oathbound Chests (5) Collect a Shockwave Hammer and an Ex-Caliber Rifle in a single match (2) Activate augments (20) Land at Hot Spots (3) Eliminate opponents (25) Hurdle over objects (15) Reach 10 players remaining in a match (1)
Here are the This Week challenges that expire on Monday, Dec. 12 and reward with 16,000 XP for each challenge completed and 30,000 XP for a group of three completed, and can be done three times:
Damage opponents while Augmented (50) Damage opponents with new or unvaulted weapons (250) Open chests in Hot Spots (3) Visit new named locations in a single match (6) Earn XP in Creator Made Experiences (50,000) Bounce with the Shockwave Hammer (Five stages) Travel distance on the Dirt Bike (Five stages)
As we noted above, the challenges really aren’t that difficult, as they largely focus around using basic gameplay mechanics like searching chests and hurdling over objects — which just requires you to sprint into them — alongside picking up some of the new weapons added to the island this season.
