However, now according to the rumours the tech giant Apple could launch a larger version of iPhone X next year. A new preview by Chuljoong Kim of Jefferies & Co. suggests that a model with a screen as big as 6.5 inches is very likely to appear soon. The analyst said that this should happen by 2020 on a model called “iPhone XI S”, which should significantly boost the production of OLED technology for companies like LG Electronics which is already working with the tech giant Apple. As, according to some latest reports, the tech giant Apple is constantly trying to reduce its dependency on the South Korean giant Samsung and plans large investments in a new installation with LG. Kim claims that the 6.5-inch iPhone could use only 180 panels per sheet, compared to the 230 panels in the case of the iPhone X, generating new challenges among suppliers. The iPhone X screen, in particular, has been annoying because of its complex nature and the notch at the top of the screen. But, the tech giant Apple would have started mass production later than expected, because of particular problems with the fingerprint sensor.
iPhone XI S Plus expected in 2020
In addition, the analyst says that investments in foldable OLED displays will continue as well, and 2019 is expected to bring the first models to the market after the majority of manufacturers begin experimenting with different models as early as next year. If the tech giant Apple sticks to its existing naming strategy for iPhone X, 2019 should allow the Cupertino giant to launch an iPhone XS, while next year, the company could present an iPhone XI. If Kim’s prediction is accurate, the future iPhone XI S is expected to arrive in 2020. The tech giant Apple is expected to launch three iPhone models next year, all featuring Facial recognition system which is known as Face ID, but at least one of them would have an LCD screen for a lower price.
